The Space...
BY PAUL DALY
I'm Broken. Please don't try to fix me.
The Space... I’m broken. Please don’t try to fix me. It doesn’t work. When a vase is shattered It’s never the same again. You can glue the pieces together.
And maybe it’ll stand up But everyone can see the cracks.
The Japanese have a practice called kintsugi In which broken pottery is mended with golden lacquer
Which makes it more valuable. I haven’t found this golden lacquer And I find it hard to believe
That this broken vase could end up more valuable
But maybe one day I’ll find a way to repair. In the meantime my life is in pieces
And I’m not going to pretend I’m whole.
